Season's Greetings (2021)

Season’s Greetings,

The last two years have been a rollercoaster of experiences related to health, learning, and work.   For a few months, Josh did work mostly from home, but then he returned permanently to the office.  MVNU’s IT HelpDesk, named Motherboard, keeps the campus updated in software and hardware, fixes computers, as needed, and runs the campus switchboard and sound systems.  Therefore, Josh oversees a staff of 5 full-timers and up to 20 students.  Jacqui still homeschools the children and has been battling health issues, mostly related to her allergy-induced asthma.  She is now seeing the specialists at Cleveland Clinic, who have taken over her asthma and voice issues.  So far as we know, Jacqui was the only one of us to fall ill with COVID-19, and her case was mild, but it did throw off her thyroid levels, thus causing migraines for several weeks.

The children continue to grow, seemingly by leaps and bounds.  Hannah is 13 and nearly Jacqui’s height.  She loves building and designing Lego masterpieces in her free time.  She has matured into a wonderful helper and does very well with managing “the Littles”, as needed.  She made a drastic change in hairstyles and chose a pixie cut, which she absolutely adores.  Kaitlyn is 11 and she is nearly Hannah’s height.  She loves reading in her free time and has amassed a very large collection of Archie Comics.  She too is maturing and has been wonderful in helping entertain Gabriel.  She too changed hairstyles and chose a long blunt bob, which allows her to manage her natural “Shirley Temple” curls more easily.  Abigail is 8 and she’s had a huge growth spurt this year, and is wearing mostly girls size 12 clothing, which is supposed to fit most 12 year olds.  She loves playing with Barbies and makeup.  She is starting to mature and has been more helpful, without being asked, as of late.  She too changed hairstyles to a long blunt bob and she’s been much better at keeping her hair free of tangles since.  Gabriel is 5 and he had more growth this year due to having his tonsils removed.  His tonsils were so large, they were almost touching, causing him to snore very loudly and have poor growth.  He loves playing with Hot Wheels, trains, and his Batman Imaginext collection.  He and Abi are both in swim lessons and are learning to play soccer.

Our prayer is that this season is both Joyful and Triumphant as we celebrate our newborn King!  The experiences of the last year and a half threaten to rob all of us of that Joy but we look forward to hearing how our creator is Triumphant in your lives.

May the Lord bless and keep you,

The Cunninghams

P.S. Our "adopted" daughter is a recent college graduate who has been living with us since graduation. Avery has developed special bonds with each of the kids and has been a great addition to our lives these last few years.
